Elephants Dream is the world’s first Open Movie, made entirely with Open Source graphics software such as Blender and with all production files freely available to use however you please, under a Creative Commons license. The short film was created by the Orange Open Movie Project studio in Amsterdam during 2005/2006, bringing together a diverse team of artists and developers from all over the world.

Don't download the high-def version unless you've got a super-fast new machine. Great way to give yourself graphics-card anxiety. Looks glorious though. Go Blender go!

Thanks to a prod I finally download a version I could actually play. Quite amazing when you consider that Blender is a free 3D package. Anyone here using it? If there were more users out there I'd love to finish Sanctuary with open source but beggers can't be choosers. Nevertheless anyone interested using Sanctuary assets in Blender should get in touch.
